Job summary 

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Technical Product Manager to help us build and grow our digital products and services. As the Senior Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining and executing the product strategy, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that meet the needs of our users.

Who are we?

Shift.ms is the social network for people with multiple sclerosis (MSers), specifically aimed at the recently diagnosed. The charity is currently a team of twelve based in the UK, and the community – www.Shift.ms – has 58,000 + members from around the world.

The next three years will be a period of transformational growth, product refinement and income diversification for Shift.ms. The membership is planned to increase to 100,000 by 2025.

About the role

Technology:

Develop a deep understanding of both web-based and mobile-based technologies, including application architecture, frontend/backend stack, API and development processes. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the industry and apply them to our products.

Design:

Apply design thinking methodologies to help designers develop user-centric products that meet the needs of our users. Work closely with the design team to ensure that the UX and UI are optimised for ease of use and engagement. Develop and prototype solutions that solve user problems.

Business:

Develop a deep understanding of the business model and funding/cost structure of the organisation. Use financial KPIs to track and measure the success of our products.

Delivery Management:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and designers, to deliver high-quality products that meet user needs. Use agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban to manage backlogs and estimations. Ensure that products are delivered on time and within budget. Clearly and regularly communicate improvement releases and future developments. Implement and track delivery performance metrics.

Data Analytics:

Develop a deep understanding of data queries, sample size, statistical significance, and data visualisation. Use data to inform product decisions and measure the success of our products. Work closely with the data team to develop data-driven insights that help us improve our products.

 

What you’ll need to bring

  • 5+ years of experience in product management in the technology industry.
  • Deep understanding of web-based technologies, including application architecture, frontend/backend stack, and development processes.
  • Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban. An understanding of agile methodologies and how to apply them.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analytics and data visualisation tools such as Data Studio, SQL skills a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Other information:

Contract: Two year, fixed term

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £65,000, dependent on experience

Probation: 1 month

Office location: We offer a remote-first working environment within the UK, with travel to our Leeds office as required for team meetings.
