As Product Manager you will work across publishing, editorial and subscription teams. The initial aim is to help grow audience market share and deliver an ambitious three-year paid-content plan, by evolving the website and building apps, but longer term you will work to identify new opportunities within the digital space.
Responsibilities
- Use market research, customer and competitor insight, user feedback and analytics to understand customer needs and align to business resources and goals
- Work with the Publishing Director to translate our audience and commercial strategy into a product strategy
- Work with members of the subscription team to help meet audience market-share targets, implement a paid-content strategy and add a digital complement to established products where appropriate
- Function effectively as the interface between editorial, subscriptions, commercial, and development teams to successfully design, build and deploy new products or product enhancements
- Develop and maintain unified platform roadmaps across a portfolio of products
- Specify development requirements/backlogs for projects with Haymarket developers or third parties
- Negotiate effectively with any third parties used to ensure that optimum fees and terms are achieved
- Maintain launched products to ensure their continued success
Skills and experience
- A track record of delivering successful digital products to market
- A track record of developing and maintaining product roadmaps
- Strong project management/delivery skills
- Experience of working across different departments such as editorial, subscriptions, commercial, marketing, and development
- An understanding of cost control and how to forecast and manage budgets
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of web usability and digital trends including the use of web analytics software
- Customer-facing experience
- Ability to deliver within tight deadlines
- Ability to juggle multiple projects in parallel, often with changing requirements and priorities
