Director, Product Management

Your Role

Fossil Group is hiring a Director to oversee our product management team based out of our Connected Device Group office in Burlingame, CA.        This leader will curate and define product roadmaps for our growing wearables category.

Essential Duties
• Partner closely with Engineering, Sales, Commercial, Finance and other product teams across Fossil Group to understand their vision, objectives and opportunities for strategic alignment
• Define overall HW and SW strategy, product roadmap and technical/feature specifications for new products based on long-term product vision, user needs, technical and market trends, and platform capabilities
• Manage product definition life-cycle from inception through to execution and productization
• Inspire, develop and manage Product Management team and processes
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 15% (domestic and international)

Your Skills

Minimum qualifications:
• BA/BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or relevant experience
• 10+ years of Product Management experience with a focus in consumer product launches (familiarity with shipping consumer electronic products)
• Proven success in working with cross-functional teams including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Product Design, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Support, Partnerships and Legal teams
• Experience with consumer hardware development life cycles and JDM/CM working models
• Experience with personal, mobile and embedded device operating systems in addition to SW applications development life cycles
• Understanding and experience with writing clear and concise PRDs

Preferred Qualifications
• MBA degree
• Experience in business operations with a demonstrated passion and talent for building and scaling consumer products that are technically excellent, aesthetically appealing and user friendly
• Team-first outlook with the ability to build great working relationships with peers across functions
• Strong technical, analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to champion initiatives internally and externally and communicate with executives and external partners
