Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Digital Producer to join our Digital Production team working across two of BMJs products, BMJ Best Practice (BP) and BMJ Learning. Your role will be to champion and provide practical support for digital content workflows within the department. You will ensure content production and publishing is delivered to meet contractual deadlines and support the department on any bug fixes relating to the production tools. Your role is also responsible for administering our translation process as part of a number of exciting high-profile healthcare programmes. You will be an organised, actively enthusiastic team member with a willingness to work and learn in a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with the production team, supporting and reporting to the Digital Delivery Manager. The Digital Producer will be responsible for supporting users in the use of the translation platform, and providing day-to-day administration to ensure contractual deadlines are met. You will join the team at an exciting time and will be involved in testing new projects, providing support to product owners and the tech team.

Responsibilities:

  • Administering publication, updating of BP and Learning content working with digital content editors, content managers and editorial team
  • Co-ordinate and develop the digital production of  translation projects, liaising with project managers, external translators and QA editors.
  • Execute technical bug fixes of tools and systems to ensure daily publishing and editorial work isn’t delayed
  • Provide first line support for the department in their use of production tools (Content Management System (CMS), Quixilver, Trello and preview sites).
  • Maintain and provide statistical reports and track and report on progress of content development when necessary
  • Validate, correct, and manipulate content XML and HTML content as required
  • Find and suggest solutions and systems of way such as transferring content, adding references, correcting URLs, linking images as directed by the digital content editing team when necessary

Qualifications:

  • Degree educated – ideally in media, communications, publishing, digital media production
  • High computer and information literacy
  • Strong skills using Google Apps
  • XML manipulation experience; familiarity with HTML,
  • Experience of digital content environments: databases and content management systems
  • Preferred experience of working in an Agile technical development environment
