Product owner – Payments, Registration and Authentication

Overview

The Product Manager Payments, Registration and Authentication, is responsible for the ongoing product development and maintenance of a suite of platforms, systems and tools that allows PERFORM to register, authenticate and monetise users across its own direct to consumer propositions – and across successful propositions we run on behalf of key strategic partners.

Key tasks include, but are not limited to, gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with content owners, commercial & sales, marketing and support teams to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Responsibilities:

• Define and own the product roadmaps for Payments, Registration and Authentication; provide leadership to ensure that development is aligned to and supports the company’s strategy and goals
• Maintain the product backlog and ensure that what is on it and what the priorities are effectively communicated; commission technical tasks from allocated internal development teams or third parties; take responsibility for deciding what work will be done and for prioritisation
• Work with allocated development teams and Heads of Solutions to develop Business Cases and project plans for new development projects
• Ensure that all releases are thoroughly tested and delivered to the highest quality
• Develop and maintain core project documentation, including product vision and scope, detailed business/customer requirements;
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of similar and competing products, be aware of new development in the market
• Work with Marketing stakeholders to create and define the strategy for the collection and optimisation of registration data across PERFORM’s D2C properties – to enable targeted marketing activity and additional product features
• Own the business relationships with third party providers; work with procurement teams to periodically review contracts; work with operations teams to ensure essential operational communication protocols are in place
• Ensure key stakeholders are continually kept up to date on progress of development, particularly at key reviews on the project, and at other times (as appropriate) to ensure readiness for new launches
• Initiate internal communication, training briefings and supporting (handover) documentation ahead of product/feature launches
• Lead a programme of work to transition BAU from the dedicated development team to a group SWAT team function, ensuring process are documented where necessary
• It is inevitable that some maintenance work will be required; the Product Manager must make sure that the product is maintained without affecting the published roadmap, through a combination of good quality assurance, training and planning

Core skills/experience:
• More than five years in a product-focussed role – either B2B or D2C
• Working experience of Agile and other development methodologies
• Proven track record in delivery and management of live, products

Role-specific skills/experience:
• An excellent understanding of online payment systems, third-party providers
• An understanding of the regulatory framework for payments
• A sound understanding on online security and data protection
• Specific knowledge of the User Data (both its protection and monetisation), as well as integration with external systems (SSO) and Social Media providers such as Gigya.
• Understanding of authentication technologies, protocols and systems
