The Role

The Head of Product is a new leadership role for GDS, responsible for the success and growth of a product or portfolio of products in the Delivery & Support directorate at GDS. Reporting to the GDS Deputy Director for Product and Proposition, you will define the product strategy, set and own key performance indicators which measure its success and be accountable for the product.

You will maintain the high-level roadmap and determine which products and enhancements are developed through discovery, alpha, beta and live phases of an ongoing development lifecycle.

You will manage and develop a talented team of product managers and others, while also leading agile multidisciplinary teams of research, design and technical staff to create, support and continuously improve the GOV.UK platform. You will collaborate and engage with users and teams across government.

We work in a fast-moving environment where priorities frequently change and you will be flexible in adapting to changing government priorities, user research findings, data and learnings from the development process.

You will also represent your product and your team, and communicate plans and progress through various channels including blogs, demos and conferences as well as being accountable to senior management and stakeholders across government.
