Product Manager BI

As product specialist within Business Intelligence you have the opportunity to shape the future in one of the hottest topics in E-Commerce today and how we can tap into Zalando’s biggest resource: Data.

You will define data products that are the core source for embedded BI teams in all business units and different data science initiatives. With a customer centric strategy, you will build an easy and sustainable environment to access and transform commercial data.



Customer Centricity: In close collaboration with BI engineering, and BI product and consulting you will drive the development of the internal products and services. You are passionate about simplifying their daily tasks and easier through smart solutions.

Ownership: You will be responsible for shaping the data product and roadmap of BI by understanding on how to solve our internal customers’ biggest data challenges.

Stakeholder management: You will create close relationships with business stakeholders to discover their needs and expectations on our products and services.

Collaboration: You work closely with our analysts and a team of product specialists to create our product vision. Furthermore, you will facilitate communication and decision-making between team and stakeholders.



Formal education: You have at least reached a degree as Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or similar studies.

Expertise:  You are passionate of creating new data products and define requirements which fulfill customer needs. You can define a vision and strategy for our data products and bring them to live. Ideally you are able to dig into our data landscape by using SQL or self-service reporting to promote the attributes and measures we calculate and provide.

Holistic Thinking: You understand dependencies between technical, business and customer impact and derive an actionable strategy for your product. You like getting into technical details but you are also able to see the bigger picture and explain the why behind the what. You make technical complexity understandable for the business.

Problem solver. Your work helps BI to solve issues, create value and increase customer satisfaction. You use your business skills and business intelligence understanding to provide objective advice and expertise, and help business units to develop BI skills that it may be lacking.

Communication: You can effortlessly interface with internal and external stakeholders. You have the ability to synthesize, visualize, and communicate your ideas to others.

Continuous learner: You define your own KPIs to in order to measure your impact and success of the product. You have the passion and drive to keep on top of product innovations out there and to refine your toolset and mentor your colleagues.
