What’s next in music happens on SoundCloud first. As the world’s largest audio platform, SoundCloud is powered by a connected community of creators, listeners, and curators who share, discover and influence what’s new, now and next in music and audio. We are looking for an experienced product manager to join our Royalties and Reporting team in Berlin.
The Royalties and Reporting team provides royalties calculations and reporting to all rights holder partners, from major and independent labels, to societies and publishers, to independent creators in our Premier program.
In this role, you will work with stakeholders across the organisation as well as directly with our rightsholder partners; your peers will cover a wide area: finance, royalties, talented engineers, and product managers. You’ll also work closely with content relations managers, content operations specialists and others, based in our New York, London, and Berlin offices.
You will be part of a team that is responsible for building and tailoring the systems and processes that take data from across our product, calculate the royalties due to each partner, and report on both the royalties as well as wider datasets that we share with our partners. The royalties and reporting team works with clear KPIs: The calculations and reports must be accurate, and must be delivered to each partner according to a contractually agreed upon timeline.
You will be responsible for driving the vision and strategy for our royalties and reporting processes to ensure that we are thinking not just about how we meet the next reporting deadline, but how we build and structure a product that benefits both SoundCloud and the creators we are paying in the long run. You will gain a deep understanding of the complex royalties domain, and play a pivotal role in optimising business processes with the team.
We are looking for an experienced product manager who is a proven project manager as well, and who thrives even with challenging deadlines. Ideally, you have experience in a data-centric, reporting, royalties and/or payments space. Your decisions are based on a healthy mix of analytics, technical understanding, business analysis, and a good understanding of the music supply chain and data space. You have a talent for ruthless prioritization, and balancing the needs of the business and our external stakeholders.
We’re also looking for a team player and proven collaborator who has outstanding verbal and written communication skills. The role requires making decisions in a complex business environment and aligning stakeholders with very different needs. We are passionate about making SoundCloud a platform that is indispensable to creators. If you would like to share this passion with us, we’d love to hear from you.
