Zendesk is looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to lead our mobile engineering team based in Dublin. As Director of Engineering you will own all our mobile apps (https://www.zendesk.com/product/mobile/) teams as well as our SDK (https://developer.zendesk.com/embeddables) and Shared Mobile Services team.
At Zendesk, our centre of excellence for all things mobile is Dublin. This role comes at a time when we will be investing heavily in the team so expect a chunk of your role to be in the recruitment of top-class iOS, Android and backend Scala engineers. You will play a pivotal role in articulating problems and getting people to work together in a collaborative, agile environment.
You will work closely with our Director of Product to shape the vision for all our mobile products and give technical insight into our platform and it’s capabilities. Sick of fighting people to get things done in your current role? Good, you will have pure autonomy within mobile to do what you need to produce qualitative products.
This is a senior management role responsible initially for a team of around 25 Engineers reporting through two managers and three team leads. As well as being able to manage, develop and support less experienced staff you’ll also be an active influencer in technical discussion and vision setting. Being able to set clear goals and contribute constructively to architectural conversations are key focuses to ensure your success in this role.
