Product Manager – Ad Tech

With millions of users and visit across multiple channels, Auto Trader is the UK’s largest marketplace for new and used cars. With huge amounts of traffic and potential ad inventory come huge opportunities.

We are looking for someone with deep technical product experience in the digital advertising and ad serving technologies in the retailing/classified sectors.  Auto Trader has created a suite of native advertising solutions which benefit from unrivaled data and targeting opportunities driven by our strong search and unrivaled reach. We are looking to further innovate in this space, refining our product set, evolving our strategy and looking into new technical opportunities for our different customer sets.

You will have excellent product thinking with proven performance in driving commercial growth through digital advertising products, you will have a high degree of technical ability with hands-on experience working with ad server technology, DSPs, SSPs, dynamic creatives and other marcomms tech platforms.

You will be a strategic thinker, capable of taking complex scenarios, breaking them down and analysing them from a financial, operational and strategic perspective and effectively communicating recommendations to drive the business forwards, gaining buy-in from stakeholders and ultimately bringing teams together to deliver the solution.

With strong organisational skills, you will have managed product development from discovery through to execution and they will have exceptional stakeholder management skills and will be able to work effectively and influence, commercial, product, and technical teams across the business.

In addition, you will have proven experience in identifying and delivering commercial product opportunities for a digital business; proven experience managing roadmaps and prioritising delivery based on commercial/strategic objectives. You will be pro-active and self-driven, able to work independently to identify opportunities and bring others on the journey to deliver an excellent end result. A bachelor’s or advanced degree, ideally in a technical or quantitative discipline is preferable.

From a technical perspective, you will have proven experience in Ad Server Implementation; Day to day usage of programmatic platforms DSPs and SSPs; Campaign management/media planning with self-serve elements; Dynamic ad creatives; Creating new Native formats; Troubleshooting display advertising solutions across multiple platforms; Pushing what’s possible with ad-tech and preferably experience in implementing/managing self-serve, biddable products within a marketplace.
