Product Manager

At Ito World, we solve transportation challenges across the world by delivering real-time transit data feeds for journey planners and a platform for transit authorities & operators. Our customers include Google, Apple, Arriva, the Department for Transport and Transport for West Midlands.

The Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our growing Transit product team. You will work closely with the product team, taking responsibility for the definition and delivery of software products and components.  You will play a crucial role, bridging the technical and commercial teams: working with users and customers to identify requirements; with the engineering team to ensure delivery; and with the commercial team for product launch and sales support.

What you’ll do:

  • Become a subject matter expert on public transit and quickly develop deep technical expertise about our products – the Ito Transit Hub and Ito Transit Data
  • Undertake competitive analysis, understanding the market and competition
  • Contribute to written proposals, RFPs, reports, white papers and sales literature
  •  Present and demonstrate Ito World’s products and services
  • Support pre-sales activity as the product subject matter expert
  • Lead sprint planning processes. Act as a representative of the customer to internal teams, to meet the requirements of the market
  • Work with the engineering team to clarify and specify product requirements
  •  Prioritise features and manage the backlog
  • Write user stories and contribute to Ito’s product roadmap
  • Work with users and customers to identify requirements and translate them into clearly defined products and features, aligned with Ito World’s strategy and vision
  • Champion how Ito helps transit operators and authorities deliver highly accurate passenger information

What you need to have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a related Product Manager role
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Strong interest/background in urban transport and emerging mobility solutions
  • Strong technical knowledge especially related to data and cloud-based solutions
  • Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Ability to travel to meet customers as needed
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in relevant subject or equivalent background

What you need to be:

  • Able to organise a complex workload, to prioritise, and manage rapidly changing demands and priorities
  • An excellent communicator who can communicate at all levels, internally and externally
  • A great listener. Someone who digs really deep into motivations and emotions, and at the same time is comfortable with data and numbers to figure out market and business opportunity sizing

What is also desirable

  • Experience developing SaaS products
  • UI/UX experience
  • Experience in fast moving, startup environment

  • £40,000 – £50,000 p.a salary (this may be negotiable for the right candidate)
