Because you belong at Twilio
The Who, What, Where and Why
At Twilio, our mission is to power the future of communications. We believe that communications should be a part of every product experience. In the Programmable Messaging and Notifications product line, we’re doing that by providing the tools to build unique messaging communication experiences across multiple messaging channels. To help us on our journey, we’re seeking a talented product leader to define and execute against this giant vision.
Who?
Product managers come from a variety of backgrounds. Our ideal applicant:
- Can describe, justify, and analyze the customer-facing decisions they’ve made elsewhere in their professional history.
- Is technical enough to discuss implementation constraints with engineers, and rounded enough to explain and discuss APIs with customers.
- Generates ideas, and is capable of documenting and evangelizing their vision in front of peers and customers.
- Is a good storyteller, crafting narratives to emphasize what’s most important in a complex system.
What?
You should be prepared to spend some days writing specs, drawing mockups, and working with the development teams to bring your vision to life. You should be prepared to spend other days speaking with Twilio customers, whether to support sales or to do research for the next product or feature. You will either bring to the table your experience launching products, or you will work with us to develop that skillset. And in the spirit of our company values, you should have the humility to accept guidance and support from your peers throughout the company.
We are looking for candidates at any level of seniority. That said, these specific requirements apply:
- 2+ years of experience as a product manager, project manager, or tech lead for a technology company.
- Some experience, whether professionally or as an enthusiastic hobbyist, writing code and developing software.
Why?
As a Product Manager in the Messaging org, you will be responsible for the a range of messaging and notifications features. The capabilities and platforms you bring to market will span both native and 3rd-party channels; PSTN, Push, Chat, WhatsApp and others. Crafting exceptional developer experiences, planning & prioritizing sprints with your engineering teams, and driving the product vision and roadmap will be your every day. And the reason to come to work every day is clear: at Twilio, you’ll be put in a unique position to address a huge market with a trusted platform and shape the future of communication with your own hands.
