Position Summary: Waypoint is looking for a Platform Product Manager that will build and lead development of its Data Platform. You will be the authority on the most mainstream commercial real estate applications and their data models and frameworks. By applying your expertise and knowledge, you’ll be able to help take on some of the most complex data challenges hampering this massive industry. Define and execute our platform roadmap in collaboration with our clients, data engineering, application engineering, data science, design and the product team.
Responsibilities:
- Build Waypoint’s data platform as a product including: data integrations, ETL data processing, and platform APIs
- Develop data platform strategy and prioritize how to use existing data as well as growing data sources and supported integrations
- Work with program management and engineering to define platform engineering staffing needs and priorities
- Be a subject matter expert on industry applications and core commercial real estate data models
- Analyze and write up requirements for data integrations, ETL processes, and APIs
- Participate with data engineering and data science on technical infrastructure decisions
- Stay informed about other Waypoint products to resolve API requirements
- Collaborate with clients to collect requirements and present product features
- Work with customers, client success, product management, engineering and the executive team reciprocally to iterate and integrate feedback
- Build product documentation and conduct internal trainings on data platform
- Review engineering output to ensure product is effectively implemented to spec
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or equivalent field)
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with robust data platforms that include components such as: data analytics, ETL processes, data warehouses, and/or APIs
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate applications and their data models (Yardi, MRI, Argus Enterprise) or willingness to become a subject matter expert
- Solid understanding of data modeling and key data infrastructure/tools
- Strong SQL and data visualization skills
- Experience taking direction and input from multiple sources and building a shared product vision
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum) development environment
- Familiarity with structured & unstructured data
- Ideally experience in statistical methods and machine learning
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with strong self-management skills
- Ability to organize and handle multiple priorities
- Strong ability to “get things done” in a start-up environment
- Willing to work in San Francisco
