Senior Manager, Product Design

Full-Time Whitby, ON, Canada Salary: 115,000 - 135,000

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the VP, Product Management, the Senior Manager of Product Design is both a people leader and an influential strategic thinker and doer. They are responsible for conceptualizing, advocating, implementing, and maturing the Product Design practice within 360insights. Responsibilities include coaching, development, and management of talent within the Product Design team and supporting stakeholders to better understand Product Design principles and approaches. They are responsible for partnering with others within Product & Technology to realize our strategic roadmap via all essential Product Design engagements and artifacts to create intuitive, engaging, and effective user experiences for our SaaS products.

You will:

  • Support and nurture the development and performance of Product Design team members
  • Implement, maintain, and evolve the Product Design practice inclusive of people, process, and technology
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of persona segmentation
  • Look at the big picture, not only from a product but also from a business point of view
  • Translate the goal of the product into a functional user experience and nurture that experience as the product matures through different stages of the product life cycle
  • Set design requirements based on information from internal teams and user research through structured thinking
  • Apply the full breadth of your design skills through user research, market research, wireframing, visual design, interaction design, usability testing, and design system contributions
  • Modify and revise existing designs to meet changing customer preferences.
  • Create exceptional user experiences with a commitment to detail and quality
  • Bring clarity and insight to problems that are broad and ambiguous in scope
  • Effectively articulate findings and design decisions to your team and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a strong partnership working collaboratively with your Product, Engineering, and Architecture counterparts
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and incorporate them into the design process
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and ensure they are integrated into all stages of product development

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong understanding of product design and information architecture fundamentals
  • Experience designing interactive digital experiences for B2B and/or B2C users
  • Hands-on experience with user research, customer journey maps, wireframes, creating prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Experience managing and developing people
  • Strong ability to influence, inspire, and coach direct and indirect teams
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, visual) with the ability to adapt communication approach based on audience preferences and style
  • Ability to handle criticisms and/or justify decisions. Expects major objections. Has experience navigating through conflicting priorities, turning ambiguity into clarity in a fast-changing environment
  • Experience working for a fast growth SaaS company a strong asset
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to realize maximum value
  • A portfolio of high-quality work that shows you directly contributed to the success of high-impact projects that have benefited end-users
