About the Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and autonomous Lead Product Manager to drive the development and scaling of our B2C product experiences. As our first dedicated Consumer Product hire, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the product function, strategy, and roadmap across a global audience.
Reporting into the CPO you’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, design, marketing, and customer care teams to define, launch, and optimise product features that drive user engagement, acquisition, and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle: from discovery and roadmap planning to delivery, iteration, and performance tracking.
• Define and communicate clear product strategies and OKRs aligned with company objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, design, comms, marketing, and operations to deliver high-impact customer outcomes.
• Lead product discovery through customer interviews, market research, and data analysis.
• Prioritise and manage a transparent product backlog; make trade-offs based on impact and technical complexity.
• Contribute to the development of our product culture and processes as the first Consumer PM hire.
• Ensure effective communication across teams and time zones, aligning global stakeholders.
• Stay updated on trends in telco, eSIMs, web, app, and communication products to inform product innovation.
Requirements:
• Must be resident in SA, ideally Cape Town
• 5+ years of product management experience in consumer-facing tech, ideally in a startup or scale-up.
• Highly commercial with an understanding of marketing principles.
• Proven track record of delivering web and mobile app products with measurable results.
• Experience working in remote or asynchronous teams across multiple time zones.
• Strong understanding of UX, data analytics, experimentation, and lean / agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
• Comfortable being hands-on and wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced environment.
• Expert with product analytics tools (e.g. MS Clarity, GA4).
Nice to Have:
• Experience in eSIM, connectivity, telecom, or related markets.
• Background in communications platforms (chat, notifications, VoIP).
• Exposure to growth and lifecycle optimisation.
