Do you want to play a pivotal role in the digital transformation of a world leading university renowned for its excellence in teaching and research?

We are seeking an accomplished and forward thinking Director of Digital Products to enable Imperial College London to achieve its digital ambitions. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer you will be instrumental in leading digitally enabled change across the organisation.

Imperial’s technology team have an ambitious Digital Plan that underpins the institutional strategy. The Digital Products team plays a crucial role in executing the Digital Plan and delivering outcomes across a number of areas within Imperial. This ranges from creating a world leading student experience to building a digital campus.

Duties and responsibilities

As the lead for the Digital Products team the role is responsible for planning and delivering the digital products required to achieve the Digital Plan goals. With the ability to move between operational delivery and setting strategic direction you will draw upon your product experience to drive a new way of working in a product led IT environment. As a leader within the technology function you will ensure digital products remains relevant to Imperial and the priorities of the Digital Plan.

Leading a team of 100 you will be responsible for technologies covering in excess of 50,000 users of services, with c20,000 technology assets and budget responsibility of £20m+ per annum.

Essential requirements

  • Proven track record of success in senior technical leadership positions within a large organisation and demonstrable experience of managing product based organisations.
  • Proven track record of working with business functions to build, transform, implement and support Digital Products across a number of core business processes
  • Knowledge and experience in digital product management.
  • Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills, dealing with fast-moving, complex scenarios supporting multiple initiatives and goals.
  • Able to create a collaborative working environment, encouraging and enabling all team members to contribute and deliver to their full potential.
