Technical Product Manager, Hardware

Who we are

We are Kisi, a physical security company that connects people and spaces. Founded in 2012, we are a truly diverse team with a headquarter in Brooklyn (USA), an office in Stockholm (Sweden), and a remote team across the globe.

What we do

We bring simple and secure physical access control to people and organizations anywhere. Our award-winning physical security platform helps businesses around the world connect and control their physical spaces through the cloud. But don’t just take our word for it: explore our award-winning Reader Pro, which recently won the coveted GOOD DESIGN award as well as the prestigious iF Design Award. Curious about how Kisi works? How we work

We believe in a few key principles that help us drive our mission: ownership, empowerment, respect, and communication. We are all fairly measured by our contributions to our goals, both individually and as a team, and we support each other to grow step by step along the way. We want to enjoy doing what we do, so Kisi is also a strictly judgment-free zone based on equal treatment.

What you’ll do

As a Hardware Product Manager at Kisi, you are responsible for the hard parts! You’ll juggle a few balls at the same time: you’ll continue the development of our best-in-class hardware portfolio, launching cutting-edge new products and experiences, gain insights into the market and industry, talk to customers, partners, and experts, and manage a very fun, ambitious and successful engineering team that will work with you to get there. At Kisi, Product Managers are part of the engineering department and have dedicated engineering resources, with a high degree of exposure to the market, industry, and our customers.

You will lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with external partners to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and usability. You will also manage the hardware product roadmap and ensure that our products are developed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Your qualifications

We don’t expect you to be a superstar! If you’re smart, organized, outcome-oriented, good at talking to and collaborating with people, not afraid to get your hands dirty, and passionate in whatever you do, then we’d be happy if you considered Kisi! If you come from a background in mechanical, mechatronics, electronics, or firmware engineering or related engineering areas, you’d be up for a great challenge. We prioritize candidates that have prior (3+ years) experience as product managers or product owners.

At Kisi, you’ll develop a deep understanding of the market and our customer’s needs (and we have a data team to help you). Our approach to product development is iterative (so we can capture value early) and responsive to feedback. You’ll learn to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and collaborate effectively with colleagues in different departments.
