The role:

As a Product Manager at Motio, you are responsible for building products that enable our customers to obtain more value from their business analytics investments.

You must understand the needs of our customers, the analytics products they use, and the competition. You must then turn this understanding into a product vision that is communicated to both senior leadership and development teams. On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for defining the product scope, detailing feature specifications, and working with the development team to produce high quality software.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Define and own the product vision
  • Become an expert in our business domain
    • Become well-versed in Qlik, Tableau, Power BI and Planning Analytics
    • Research these markets
    • Understand how customers use these products and what challenges they face
    • Learn and conduct research about competing products
  • Understand our customer needs
    • Develop positive working relationship with Motio customers
    • Serve as the customer representative to the stakeholder meetings
    • Identify areas of opportunities
    • Understand how customers are using Motio products
  • Manage Product Backlog and prioritization for development team
    • Detail and prioritize features
    • Manage and prioritize defects
    • Schedule and conduct regular stakeholder meetings to review the backlog
  • Be the subject matter expert for the development team
    • Collaborate and communicate vision to the developers
    • Clarify requirements
    • Attend daily standups
  • Analyze and evaluate new product opportunities
    • Present new proposals to expand our product features
  • Work closely with senior leadership providing status, action plan and recommendations

Who you are:

  • 4-year degree in analytics, computer science, engineering, finance, mathematics, or similar quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in product or project management
  • 3+ years of Business Intelligence and/or database/analysis experience
  • Documentation skills (stakeholder analysis, project plans, status reporting)
  • Experience working with an Agile Development Team
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with business strategy, business modeling, technology strategy, and roadmap planning and scenario analysis
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams: Engineering, Sales, and Marketing
  • Superior verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities related to multiple projects at once

Must have technical skills:

  • Must be knowledgeable in Qlik, Tableau, Power BI and/or Planning Analytics/TM1
  • Prefer some basic coding skills (SQL, scripting, etc)
