Blackfriars, London – hybrid working

With your range of core design skills and your desire to tackle critical social issues, this is a unique opportunity to create digital experiences and solutions that will leverage collective intelligence in exciting new ways. Join us as a Designer at the cutting edge of an emerging area of innovation practice, turning bold ideas into reality.

Nesta is the UK’s innovation agency for social good. We design, test and scale solutions to society’s biggest problems, changing lives for the better. We are focused on three innovation missions: a fairer start for every child, a healthy life for all, and a sustainable future where the economy works better for people and the planet.

Our Centre for Collective Intelligence Design explores new ways for communities to harness the power of people, data and technology to solve the problems that matter to them. Working with Nesta’s mission teams and external partners, we bring together insights from diverse groups of people, new sources of data (such as sensor or mobile phone data) and digital technologies (including AI) to develop bespoke solutions. We also use rigorous research methods to test, evaluate and learn from each solution. An example of the work we do can be found here.

You’ll also help train, mentor and advise our partners in collective intelligence design.

Your experience, skills and mindset should include:

  • Ideally, experience in social innovation, public sector design or designing products with a social purpose, working end-to-end.
