Digital Product Designer

Full-Time Royal Botanic Gardens, Richmond Salary: £38,200 - £45,404 per annum, depending on skills and experience Closes: 2022-07-17

We are looking for a skilled Product Designer to help shape the digital experience of Kew by designing engaging, accessible, user-centered experiences across our visitor and public-facing digital products. That means everything from the kew.org website to our shop and membership platforms, as well as potential future applications of digital to enhance the experience at our sites.

Working in a multidisciplinary Product and Design team, you’ll be responsible for designing our products to meet a variety of user needs and business goals, balancing this with the technical constraints. You’ll be curious about how users interact with our products, working with our product managers to define features based on insight, and with our user experience designer in understanding the journeys our users go through throughout their engagement with Kew. You’ll also have a key role to play in enhancing our visual online presence in line with Kew’s brand.

You’ll be an expert in:

·        Designing customer facing products with the user at the heart

·        Developing and applying digital design patterns to maximise consistency, accessibility and usability in line with business goals

·        Prototyping and wireframing (including testing and validating designs)

·        Supporting new features through to launch and beyond (including scoping, QA and UAT testing and impact monitoring)

Examples of work that this role has supported in the past include improvements to page templates and webforms to increase conversion, information architecture changes, site re-designs and mobile optimisation.

This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.
