Senior Product Manager, Agribusiness

The team: An exciting opportunity has opened up for a high-performing Product Manager to join the Agribusiness team, part of the Commodity Insights division of S&P Global. We specialize in unrivalled expertise from farm to fork, delivering the latest market news, supply/demand, price data and forecasts, expert analysis and bespoke consulting across the whole food value chain that helps our clients to see the bigger picture and act upon it.

The impact: The Senior Product Manager will help drive the growth of a portfolio of mature and new B2B information products and services covering the agriculture and food commodity markets, meeting clients and market participants, understanding market trends to identify and deliver high growth opportunities.

You will work with the wider product management team and collaborate with our research & analysis, sales, technology, marketing and customer care teams to determine which market problems we are best positioned to solve. You will contribute to product strategy across your areas of the portfolio, business plans, product roadmaps, user personas, market requirements and use scenarios that lead to growth in current and new market segments.

The Senior Product Manager will play a critical role within the wider Agribusiness portfolio, this will include other product groups, research teams, sales, marketing and leadership. Finally, you will have the opportunity to work directly with customers and prospects to gain insight into the market trends and opportunities.

This position provides the opportunity to impact the growth of S&P Global Commodity Insights by bringing revenue-generating products and/or product enhancements to market. You will relish the opportunity to solve problems for thousands of companies, and the people that work for them, by designing and building high-quality, product solutions.

Responsibilities:  
Market Problems, Market Definition, Competitive Landscape: Develop programmes of customer research to uncover needs in a data-driven way and translate feedback into actionable insight ensuring product development continually improve. Serve as the voice of the market across the business.

Product Strategy & Roadmap: Provide significant input to our portfolio strategies by developing a deep understanding of agribusiness market trends, needs of prospective and current customers, as well as how customers use the current products and competitor products.

Problem Solving: Take ownership of activities to identify, analyse, evaluate alternatives and formulate responses to resolve business and customer problems.

Product requirements: Translate market knowledge into user personas and product positioning statements which serve as the blueprint for both plans to improve go-to-market activities and input into the product roadmap. Manage multiple external and internal stakeholder groups to achieve the business critical goals

Innovation: Solves industry challenges by applying leading-edge technologies and new approaches to solve the most difficult market problems and create transformational solutions for the industry. Apply continuous discovery techniques to uncover new opportunities for our portfolio.

What we’re looking for 
5 years of product management experience with experience of analytical content, data and market intelligence products and services. You might have worked in industry data/analysis, B2B information, fintech, software or a related field.

Demonstrated ability to quickly develop new domain understanding to be effective in a product management role

Past success in both developing and launching new offerings and in finding new avenues for growth for mature products

Business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to construct and evaluate different business model approaches to maximize ROI

Experience in and enthusiasm for engaging with clients to understand customer industry workflows, identify unmet needs, and develop creative solutions to address them

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and have very strong presentation skills

Experience influencing without authority and managing diverse sets of stakeholders

Experience of working with developers and of Agile Scrum / SAFe practices

Experience of APIs and enterprise data delivery would be a plus
